Business is picking up again- I shipped out about 15 items tonight to the East and West Coast, Midwest, and New Zealand. Yay for our international friends!
Also lots of custom order inquiries- I LOVE THAT! Thanks for asking...
And I made my first trades this past week- one to New Orleans and another yet to come.
Lots of new items will be added to the shop this week including new headpieces, jewelry and some vintage items. Most of this stuff is in a different direction from most of my normal things so I guess we'll see how that goes.
I've also been daydreaming new things for the shop- here are a couple.
My back is sore from bending over my work table all day making earrings from old czech glass beads and findings I had laying around. Lots of colors and shapes- all dangle this time. I'll try some posts next time, but that involves gluing and I was avoiding my favorite toy (hot glue gun) today and I always get the jewelry glue all over my finger and then can't feel the keys on my computer to type. :(
And I was mad because I could only use top drilled beads today- and I had some really cute side drilled ones- because I was out of the right gauge wire to fix them up. Damn.
Also I'll be a part of STL Handmade's "I Do" virtual wedding showcase from March 28-April 25 featuring handmade wedding accessories, jewelry, gifts, art etc. from the STL area.
It may be silly to be excited about this, but I got my labels today for the items. The label is .5"x 1.5" and looks like the front of my business cards. (see the picture above)
I guess it just seems classier to sell a product with your own label on it. I know I'm always a little impressed when an Etsy seller has their own labels on their products. Others sign with paint pen which I guess is okay, but labels are the way to go I think.
I started out just making some jewelry and fun headbands for myself and friends, but when people started asking if they could buy my things, I knew I had found my niche.
