Natural Vintage Fall Wedding Sale
A few weeks ago a customer we'll call Ashley asked me to create a 15 piece bridal suite of boutonnieres and wrist corsages for her October wedding.
The results are below- she loves them (or so she has said) hehe. I think they're pretty cute too.
Her theme, she told me, was natural with a hint of vintage; pheasant and guinea feathers, scraps of book pages, twigs and vines and fall leaves.

Big A$$ Recap and THE RESULTS
As you readers know, I was less than enthusiastic about my experience with the Big A$$ Indie Art and Craft Show.
Well, I can now report that despite being slightly unhappy with how things were displayed, supervised, etc., I did make a decent amount of money from the weekend.
All in all my outlays for just the show were around $150 ($15 app fee, $35 entrance fee/booth fee, 12% admin fee taken from profits). I ended up clearing $560+. For my first real show, I'm happy with that.
Happy enough to give it another go in December. Big A$$ 3, here I come!

Urban Nomad- More new pieces!
Here are a couple of new headpieces in the fall line. Lots more colors coming soon and plenty of different shapes.. These are going to be so great for fall and winter with coats!
Urban Nomad- Avocado Green Abstract Shapes Headpiece- Fall Collection- Runway Inspired$40
This one is super loopy and kind of a riff on Robin Hood.
Urban Nomad- Heathered Grey Abstract Shapes Headpiece- Fall Collection- Runway Inspired$40
This one is a little larger than the others but is probably my fav so far! Great versatile color-- I can't wait to see it in pumpkin!
Urban Nomad- Pumpkin Abstract Shapes Headpiece- Fall Collection- Runway Inspired$40
And I just added this one- I like the color a lot, but feel like I didn't loop the tops enough to make it stable. Hmmm. Will have to work it out.

Urban Nomad: New Fall/Winter Collection
The new fall/winter line, which I'm calling Urban Nomad, is rolling out this week. I've got a few pieces up now. Still tweaking some more, but thought I'd share the first two...
This one is a work in progress. It's supposed to be inspired by the BluGirl fall runway headpieces but I still have to work on it a bit. This one is posted in my Etsy however.
This one I'm a lot more happy with- actually it's my new favorite thing. I was just playing with shapes and it happened. And I love it.
Big A$$ Indie Art and Craft Show Recap
Wow! What a wild weekend...
And here are the pics of my items-- all by Steve Truesdale of the RFT.
So all in all I think I sold quite a bit - I'm not positive since I haven't seen the receipts yet or received a check (Aug 14th- I'll let you all know the real numbers)- but the times I was there, I couldn't help feeling kinda felt bummed seeing my stuff so man/woman-handled. Broken=not sellable. Didn't seem to be much supervision sometimes. Especially the first night when headliners Leslie Hall and the Lys drew in quite a crowd on top of the normal craft seekers.
It was a cool idea, but I think there was a lot of stuff/ too much stuff/ out on the floor at one time leading to piling, pulling, and breakage. No one got the exposure they should have because people were having to dig to look at things.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to have done it, but I'm still debating whether to do it again in December. I guess the end numbers will help me decide that...
On the positive side, I heard a lot of great comments about my things and I got some insight into price points and what people generally think of the designs. Eavesdropping is so good at craftshows ---AND THE PEOPLEWATCHING!! Top notch!
I also have two items pictured in the RFT's slide show of the event- which is super cool. Here's the link to the show:http://bit.ly/18D9Jk
